Hilton Garden Inn - Omaha Nebraska

I recently spent a night at the Hilton Garden Inn West Omaha. It is a beautiful new three-story hotel on the edge of the middle west of the city. I was told it was opened about a year ago.

As a born and bred California, I was impressed on the trip from Eppley Field Airport to the venue. Many open spaces, friendly and helpful people, very cold air because it was early December.

Upon arriving at my destination, I came looking for a very cozy lobby. OneSide had hidden a sitting area with a plasma TV, out of sight until you went to the corner where it hung. The other half was a restaurant of sorts. I say "the species" mainly due to the fact that it is for those who are eating for breakfast in the mornings or the Wednesday night cocktail and snacks chosen to participate hours. The management was kind enough pots of freshly brewed regular and decaffeinated coffee and hot water with tea and hot chocolate packets with homemade cookiesaround the clock. A nice gesture, especially since the outside temperature was around 3 clock in the afternoon on the day I arrived 45 degrees. Warm and the natives, freezing to me!

The desk staff were very nice! I asked if they could print my return flight check-in for the next day for me, a young lady got into this chore, while they checked me into my room CounterMate. I thanked them for their help and went in. The room was laid down on the first floor, next to theIndoor pool and spa area. I had to give a lecture, so while I took a look around, I did not have enough time to enjoy it, or the workout room on the other side of the hall. There was also a guest laundry.

My room was a pretty good size and had two queen-size beds, a desk and a decent bathroom. Complete with all necessary amenities shampoo, lotion, soap, hair dryer. Oh, I forgot my toothbrush and saw that there is a small room on the side of the MiscellaneousCheck-in, but the staff gave me a on the house. My room had a microwave and a coffee machine with the appropriate ingredients for tea, coffee or hot chocolate as well.

I did not have a taxi to speak to me for my commitment, as the hotel had a shuttle service offered to drive me to anywhere within five miles radius. A nice feature. When, on the outskirts of Omaha, was my view of an open field, what I could and the outdoor shopping center you will find a little lessthan one mile.

Those are the plus points. There were a few not so great things. One, even though this area knows the weather will become cold and the seal on my rather large window was anything but good. I had set the temperature on my thermostat set at 70, but when I try on my speech at the desk by the window working SA-room was so cold that I still wear my coat. Later in the evening after my return, I wanted to ward off the cold with a hot bath, but found I hadonly lukewarm water, preferably coming from the spout. When I phoned to see what could be done, the staff were apologetic, but explained that there's nothing she could do. Brrr.

All in all, the Hilton Garden Inn West, was a wonderful experience. If I ever have a chance to go back, I'd probably want to stay there and I would recommend it to continue.
